The Summer Party Selection comprises two bottles each of Steenberg’s most beloved wines from the Constantia Valley – Steenberg Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc, Steenberg Sauvignon Blanc and Steenberg Merlot. The wines are paired with some of Steenberg executive chef Kerry Kilpin’s recipes ideal for a dinner party or to serve canapé-style in a more relaxed setting on the patio or by the pool.
For the vibrant Steenberg Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc, Kilpin has come up with sweet and savoury delights to get you into the party mood. Her chevin galette is a perfect appetiser while the passion fruit tart is a mouth-watering dessert. The ever so moreish spicy fried prawns are a winner with crisp and refreshing Steenberg Sauvignon Blanc either as a no fuss canapé or starter. For the Merlot, Steenberg’s most popular red wine, Kilpin has chosen harissa lamb ribs that can double up as finger food or a main course.

Serving bistro-style fare and tapas, the cellar door restaurant Bistro Sixteen82 has extended its evening trading hours and is now open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner – including Monday and Tuesday evenings, from 9am till 8pm (last orders at 7pm).

Bid farewell to a tumultuous 2020 with a celebratory New Year’s Eve dinner in the tranquil surroundings of Tryn, which takes on a magical form by night with stately oak trees enlivened by hundreds of fairy lights enchanting dinner guests. Dedicated to Steenberg’s 17th century founder, Catharina Ras, and untouched by the fast pace of the Mother City just a heartbeat away, Tryn is the perfect setting to celebrate new beginnings.
Let Kilpin spoil you with a spectacular five-course dinner of gastronomical delights to bring the stressful year to an uplifting close. The goats cheese and black truffle amuse bouche will fire up the taste buds, followed by sumptuous seared tuna, a gin and tonic granita palate cleanser, and tender loin of venison. For dessert, Kilpin’s Manjari flexi ganache with white chocolate and rose mousse, strawberries and crème fraîche ice cream is pure decadence on a plate.
