THE emotional devastation of a missing lived one can impact dozens of lives – and the search to find them can take on obsessive proportions. Alert: Missing Persons Unit follows the detectives who dedicate their lives to bringing missing people home. Premiering on M-Net (DStv Channel 101) on Friday 8 September at 8pm, viewers who love police procedurals and intricate investigations will want to make a date with their couch.

When Detective Nikki Batista’s (Dania Ramirez) son, Keith, goes missing, she joins the Philadelphia Police Department’s Missing Person’s Unit to help other people find their loved ones, even as she searches for her own. Along with her partner and ex-husband, Detective Jason Grant (Scott Caan), Nikki works tirelessly to solve cases that range from the mundane to the complex, all while dealing with the emotional toll of her own son’s disappearance.

Nikki and Jason investigate the cases of a missing bride, a runaway teenager, and a young boy who has been abducted. They also uncover a dark secret about Keith’s past that could hold the key to his disappearance.

As their work progresses, their personal lives become increasingly intertwined with their work. But through it all, they remain committed to their mission of finding missing persons and bringing closure to their families.

The season is created by actor, comedian, singer, and director Jamie Foxx (Django Unchained) and acclaimed writer and producer John Eisendrath. Its premier was a ratings success in the US, averaging 3.2 million viewers.
