Five weekend festivals coming up in McGregor

Love Life! Festival

THERE are five remarkable festivals and big events taking place in McGregor between September and November. Pick a festival (or three) and plan some time away to attend one of these fantastic events.

  • McGregor Whisky Weekend, 15-17 September 

The McGregor Whisky Weekend showcases the best of whisky from all over the world, with much of it coming from Scotland, a logical link with McGregor’s many Scottish connections.  

  • McGregor Art Walk, 6–8 October

McGregor’s inaugural Art Walk will showcase McGregor’s talented resident and visiting artists. This full weekend of activities begin with an opening exhibition of six visiting artists, includes about 12 studios that will be open on the Saturday and Sunday.

  • White & Rosé Wine Festival, 7 October

The Blend in Voortrekker Street will host the third edition of this year’s themed wine festivals. Join in the festivities from 2-6pm and enjoy a selection of diverse and handpicked white & rosé wines in the lovely garden area. Quicket.

  • The LOVE LIFE! Festival, 13 – 15 October

An extraordinary weekend of creative expression and unity in the picturesque town of McGregor as organiser Christi van der Colff and her team, proudly present the first LOVE LIFE! Festival. Through film, music, art, workshops, and interactive experiences, this groundbreaking event is a joyous celebration of the LGBTQAI+ community and its allies.

  • Reimagining the McGregor Poetry Festival Weekend, 17 – 19 November 

After 10 successful years, the popular annual McGregor Poetry Festival is taking a break to reimagine and revision the next decade of presenting and promoting the art of poetry in South Africa. Poets and lovers of the written word however have expressed a desire to still get together to share some of their latest work. For more information, click here.
