Bring on sunshine and even brighter tastes this heritage weekend

SUMMER’S winking, and with Heritage Day on the horizon, the team at Nederburg’s The Manor restaurant in Paarl has been hard at work conjuring up a feast of meat and sides to celebrate our national pastime – braai – all weekend long. Centre-stage on 23 to 25 September will be the winery’s full-bodied Cabernets, and Cab-based blends, fit for a braai like none other.

For R550 per pair, you get the mouth-watering menu of a 500g grilled tomahawk beef steak (to share), potato salad, bean salad, roosterkoek with butter, preserves and cheese, as well as a delicious sweet finish of coconut koesisters. It all comes perfectly paired with two glasses of Nederburg’s popular Double Barrel Reserve (a Cab-based blend). A wide variety of other favourites and Cabernets from the collection will also be on offer, at an additional cost.

Children are welcome, and catered for in the form of boerie rolls, juices, cooldrinks, milkshakes, and a jumping castle, in addition to an outdoor play area with jungle gym, zip line and more, on the lawn of the manor house, right in the midst of the action.
