Raise a glass to make history with Two Gingers Gin at Cape Cheers

GEMBER DISTILLERY, the creative minds behind the Two Gingers gin brand, are embarking on an epic quest to etch their names in the history books by attempting to break a Guinness World Records™ (GWR) for “the most people drinking gin in one place” at Cape Cheers, which will take place at the distillery in Muizenberg on Saturday, 6 April 2024.

Two Gingers’ founders Simon Cranswick and Wynand de Vries believe history is best made when shared with kindred spirits and invite you – gin enthusiasts, party people and music-lovers to join them at Cape Cheers for a day of fun, food and entertainment, and more importantly, the opportunity to break a Guinness World Record™.    This accolade will be the “juniper berry on top” and hold pride of place among the many gold awards these fledgling crafters of gin have already racked up in less than two years.

The gates will open at 10am for what is set to be a gathering of note and while the focus is on claiming the world record, attendees can also look forward to a great line-up of local talent, featuring feel-good rock band Sunset Sweat Shop.  There will be food trucks and bars, and resident DJ and MC Andre will keep you grooving until the sun goes down.

Ticket are available from Webtickets for R280 per person, with everyone attending receiving four mini bottles of Two Gingers gin to participate in the official audited GWR tasting which will be overseen by an international Guinness World Record judge and a certified taster.

Whether you’re a gin enthusiast or someone just looking to be part of something extraordinary and to enjoy a day out, this festival needs to go in your calendar. “Let’s raise a glass and say a Cape ‘cheers’ to collectively etching this occasion into the record books!” says Simon.
