JENNIFER LAWRENCE is back with No Hard feelings, a R-rated comedy, filled with all the laugh-out-loud humour and fun we’ve come to expect from her. It’s available now on DStv Box Office.
Maddie (Lawrence) is an Uber driver and bartender in New York trying to make ends meet in the hustle-and-bustle of New York City. She’s lost her car and owes property taxes on a home she inherited from her mother.
On the verge of bankruptcy, Maddie, 32, thinks she’s found the answer to her financial troubles when she discovers an intriguing job listing: wealthy helicopter parents (played by Laura Benanti and Matthew Broderick) looking for someone to “date” and boost the confidence of their 19-year-old son, Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman), and bring him out of his shell before he goes off to college; in exchange for a Buick Regal.
But awkward, shy, and no experience with girls, alcohol or parties, Percy proves to be more of a challenge than expected. The clock is ticking, and Maddie is running out of time before she loses it all. In a plot reminiscent of the ’90s cult flick, She’s All That, Percy and Maddie’s relationship takes a surprising turn.
Directed by Gene Stupinsky (Good Boys and the co-writer of Bad Teacher), and co-produced by Lawrence, this quirky comedy is a movie-night must-see. Enjoy it from the comfort of your couch courtesy of DStv Box Office and Sony Pictures Entertainment
