THE Italian Festival is back at Idiom this weekend, March 4 and 5. Festival goers can enjoy live music, imported Italian wine tasting, Italian cuisine, fun activities for both adults and kids, wine masterclasses and a bit of shopping.

Explore and taste wines from the different regions of Italy – the Red ticket includes a voucher for 12 wine tastings. More vouchers will be available to purchase at the event. Should you wish to enjoy all the festival has to offer but would prefer not to drink, the White ticket option is for you.

To add to the experience,  there are curated, regional masterclasses available to attend during the festival – three classes to choose from per day which will be at an additional cost of R100 per person (click here to book). A must for wine lovers and those who enjoy learning more about the wines and wine regions.

This year will offer a special focus on products from the beautiful Campania region, which includes Naples, Pompeii, the stunning Amalfi Coast and the islands of Capri and Ischia. One of the highlights of the festival will be the special sunset Tastes Of Campania Aperitivo Evening on Saturday from 6pm to 8pm, where the outgoing Italian Consul in Cape Town, Emanuele Pollio, who hails from Sorrento, will be telling guests about the region’s cultural and historic secrets.

Neapolitan songs will be performed by Italian performer Francesca Biancoli. Feudi di San Gregorio wines will be served accompanied by delicious tastes of the Amalfi coast prepared by Fumo’s Claudio Uccello. (An extra ticket is required to attend the Aperitivo Evening).
