HAPPILY single? Let down in love? Or deliciously paired and lapping it up? Whether you have a love life or a simple lust for life, Love & Lust at 44 on Long – Cape Town’s newest “hidden” venue – is surely the hottest way to round off the Month of Love.
Featuring Lu Chase, it’s cabaret, it’s burlesque, it’s unmissable.
Born and bred in Cape Town, Lu’s move to Paris a few years ago has seen her carving a successful career across Europe. Her journey has led her to perform from Ireland, London and Monaco, to the tropical islands of Punta Cana. Lu (pictured above) has headlined the prestigious Salon Heavent (the biggest event convention in Europe) and has opened for world famous disco diva Gloria Gaynor in St Tropez, for Sister Sledge at the Enghien Jazz Festival, and for Roy Ayers at the legendary Paris jazz club New Morning. With a range of genres from disco and funk to power ballads, Lu’s voice is powerful, silky and mesmerising.
Also bringing their magnetic allure to the party are top Cape Town burlesque acts Sophia von Syren and Vita Nova, each renowned for their sultry poise and seductive moves. Prepare to be bewitched!
At 44 on Long, it’s not just about the show, it’s about the party. Doors open at 6.30pm for drinks and food on the balcony. The show begins promptly at 8pm, and the party continues until late.
