Stellenbosch chefs and winemakers unite for ultimate culinary showcase at Fine Wine and Food Festival

STELLENBOSCH Wine Routes will bring the invigorating energy of the region to life in August when it unites talented winemakers and top chefs for the ultimate culinary showcase, the Stellenbosch Fine Wine and Food Festival presented by Nedbank Private Wealth. Food and wine lovers will have one opportunity to experience this incredible collaboration of talent on Saturday, August 3, in Stellenbosch’s Town Hall, from 5pm till 11pm.

Regarded as the country’s gourmet capital, Stellenbosch is home to some of South Africa’s best premium wines, as well as the country’s most awarded restaurants, making it perfectly positioned to present a festival which promises to captivate all the senses.

Flexing its culinary muscles, Stellenbosch Fine Wine and Food Festival will present guests with the “authentic taste of Stellenbosch”. Capitalising on its remarkable terroir which shapes its globally awarded wines, only wines made from grapes grown in the Stellenbosch region, and therefore certified as Wine of Origin (W/O) Stellenbosch, will be presented. Famous chefs, including Bertus Basson, George Jardine, Michael Deg and Michael Broughton, will provide expertly paired canapés for heightened tasting experiences.

Enabling an even bigger and better showcase of Stellenbosch’s best, is wealth management and financial services provider, Nedbank Private Wealth. Richard Mulholland, Head of Nedbank Private Wealth, Coastal Region, commented: “We recently launched our Stellenbosch office, providing the community with easy access to wealth managers and private bankers who can provide expert, personal financial advice to help people meet their objectives and make better financial decisions. Our new partnership with the Stellenbosch Wine Routes further embeds our involvement with the Stellenbosch community and the wine industry. Our work with the wine route and its many successful philanthropic initiatives has made an enormous difference to communities within the region.”

With this major partner onboard, the festival promises to be nothing short of remarkable. “This is truly a festival to rival all other festivals. Only the finest food and wine will be served on the evening, and to ensure an exceptional experience, only a limited amount of tickets are available,” says Elmarie Rabe, manager of Stellenbosch Wine Routes. “We therefore urge guests to book their tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment!”

This festival encourages visitors to stay longer and indulge in the pleasures of South Africa’s wine tourism capital. During the winter months, various activities and tastings will be offered by participating producers, restaurants and accommodation partners of the Stellenbosch Wine Routes, as part of their #VisitStellenbosch campaign. With enticing packages on offer, guests have every reason to combine the Stellenbosch Fine Wine and Food Festival with a prolonged stay. Click here for more information.

Tickets to the festival are R500 and include all the food and wine tastings.
