THE South African restaurant industry has been hard hit during the pandemic and 96 Winery Road Restaurant in the beautiful Helderberg winelands is facing the challenges head on and with its doors wide open. It has curated its dining experience and – as always – its focus is on offering guests warm hospitality and delicious meals served up in a safe and friendly environment.
96 Winery Road offers guests the perfect opportunity to get the family out and about, as it is open daily from 9am for barista-made coffees, served with a variety of freshly baked treats and stuffed croissants. The new deli section is open and one can find a fantastic selection of homemade goodies including a bespoke range from 96’s kitchen. You can expect meat rubs, chutneys and pickles, and a selection of Cape Wagyu beef in its state-of-the-art dry ager. Organic eggs, veggies, coconut products, special salts and stone ground breads are also on sale.
96 has a hearty selection of classic breakfast dishes served outside in the garden or inside near the fireplace. The new Small Plates menu, which includes a wide selection of scrumptious new dishes, signature favourites and decadent desserts, is available daily for lunch, and for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays. It has created a signature take away menu as well, with collection from the restaurant every day of the week. A delicious option for those preferring to stay at home is the Dine For Two box, bringing a three-course meal right to your door. Each person will be able to choose their favourite meals from a selection of three starters, mains and desserts.
The restaurant is 100% Covid-19 compliant, following all the hygiene requirements set out by the authorities. There is plenty of space outside for social distancing, and the tables have been configured in such a way that guests do not have to come into close contact with other diners. All guest are asked to wear their face masks and sanitise upon arrival.
