Wine lovers gear up for Wine Town Stellenbosch 2023

FROM Tuesday, August 1 to Sunday, August 6, experience a diverse range of events, including farm walks, culinary creations, and expert-led tastings, designed to captivate every wine enthusiast. This year’s Wine Town promises even more excitement than ever before, dazzling guests throughout picturesque vineyards across multiple wine farms in Stellenbosch. Immerse yourself and engage with passionate winemakers who have elevated Stellenbosch to its globally renowned status, showcasing exceptional quality cultivars.

Wine Town organisers have ensured visitors will be enchanted by including notable organisations such as the Stellenbosch Cabernet CollectiveChenin Blanc Association, and the Pinotage Association. It will be a masterclass on understanding the secrets behind age-old traditions deeply engraved in cultural history, and the perfect occasion for families and friends to enjoy excellent cuisine paired with remarkable wine. Look forward to six exciting days filled with fun activities centred around South Africa’s famous wines, celebrating excellence at Wine Town Stellenbosch, and paying homage to the extraordinary wines grown and made in this remarkable region.

To round off the festival, the highly anticipated grand finale, the Stellenbosch Wine Festival, takes place over two days at the historic Stellenbosch Town Hall, showcasing the best of Stellenbosch’s finest wines while indulging palates with delicious cuisine. Indulge in a delightful wine-tasting experience on August 4 and 5, featuring the best wineries in the region. From Friday, between 5pm and 9pm, to Saturday, between 2pm and 6pm, prepare your taste buds for over two hundred exceptional wines complemented by gourmet dishes crafted by acclaimed chef Bertus Basson.

Wine Town Stellenbosch will feature prominent names among the participating wineries, including Spier Wine Farm, Ernie Els Wine, Beyerskloof, and Kaapzicht, joined by newcomers Dorp St Wines and Compagniesdrift, promising a fresh and exciting lineup you wouldn’t want to miss. Tickets are available online now, from R350 per person (early bird until July 15). While you’re there, take time to explore Stellenbosch’s captivating vineyards, where you can enjoy experiences such as curated grand Pinotage dinner at Simon Wine Emporium, a multitude of winemaker dinners and events including Blaauwklippen, a Stellenbosch terroir tasting for wine geeks and connoisseurs.
