SUMMER tastes like gin and tonic – change my mind. Societi Bistro launched its new seasonal menu with a fabulous party a few weeks back, and is keeping the momentum going by hosting the first of a series of Summer Gin Festivals on Saturday, November 27 from 12pm to 3pm.
The Summer Gin Festivals are presented by Takealot to complement the online Summer Gin Festival, currently running on the gin page of its site, explained organiser McLoughlin.
“It aims to promote all things South African gin. Takealot is a proud supporter of the South African craft gin category. South Africa makes some of the finest craft gins in the world, having access to the world famous Cape Floral Kingdom. This provides unique botanical ingredients which are utilised by SA gin distillers.Nowhere else in the world can you taste a rooibos or a fynbos gin.”
Guests will receive a complimentary goldfish bowl style gin glass from Schweppes, which is providing the mixers. The gins exhibiting include Monks, Sugarbird, Karoo Prick, Poetic Licence, Ginologist, Malachite, Deep South, Blackwood Gin, and Smiths Gins – so far. Guests can expect to receive a tasting from each gin exhibiting. Each guest will also receive a R100 Takealot discount coupon valid for gin orders of R450 or more.
