Steenberg’s Tryn unlocks vinoteque for lunch and dinner guests

At Tryn, Steenberg’s vibrant signature restaurant, guests who depleted their own collections during the months of lockdown, now have the opportunity to savour rare vintages from a selection of private cellars.

The extended list of vintage wines is available daily for lunch and on Friday and Saturday evenings, Tryn’s new post-lockdown dinner opening hours. Some of the sought-after wines from Steenberg’s own wine library include Nebbiolo and Syrah from the 2012 vintage, and the flagship red, Catharina 2013. Tryn’s vinoteque also has a treasure trove of celebrated wines from other accomplished cellars.

These optimally aged and cellared wines offer wine lovers exceptional value and enjoyment with chef Kerry Kilpin’s inspiring dishes bursting with fresh tastes and textures. Whether you navigate your way through Tryn’s à la carte menu at your own pace or take advantage of the well-priced three course dinner option of a starter, main and dessert for R375 per person, you’re in for an inspired journey of culinary delights. Adding her personal touch, Kilpin will welcome dinner guests with a salivating amuse bouche and indulge you with a parting gift of her homemade signature chocolate truffles.

With a choice of relaxed and more formal menu options showcasing Kilpin’s trademark touches of Asian and Middle Eastern flair to classically prepared dishes, there is ample reason for return visits.

Dedicated to Steenberg’s 17thcentury founder, Catharina Ras, or Tryn as she was known to her nearest and dearest, the restaurant is contemporary in spirit and offers a refreshed, youthful and stylish space that appeals with leisurely charm. Tryn’s modish cocktail bar and tranquil vineyard terrace is the perfect setting to get the weekend started with pre-dinner sundowners.
