In the V&A Waterfront, it is the perfect spot to experience the best craft gin the Mother City has to offer. It is not only a celebration of premium gin, but also the vibrant history and creative energy that is Cape Town.
At the Cape Town Gin & Spirits Emporium, you’ll be able to sample its award-winning range: the Cape Town Classic Dry Gin, the Cape Town The Pink Lady Gin (a tribute to the Pink Lady, the Mount Nelson), the Cape Town Rooibos Red Gin and the newest member of their family, The Black Rhino. This premium brand was established in 2015, distilling and bottling each varietal locally. As a distinctly South African brand, each gin honours a uniquely local flavour that reflects the essence and biodiversity of the region.
This gin tasting experience will lead you on a sensory journey through each gin, offering insights into how it’s made, fascinating anecdotes and, the most important part, how best to enjoy them. The tasting includes Indian tonic water and garnishes for each gin, so you won’t have any surprises when the bill comes. Though the tutored tastings take approximately 30 min, an hour is booked for each tasting group allowing plenty of time to chat and enjoy. Which you’ll need as you simply can’t leave without enjoying at least one of the delicious signature G&Ts or gin cocktails.

To book your tasting, all you need to do is head to the website, select your time and the size of your group. The Gin Room offers bookings for parties with a minimum of six guests per time slot; The Showroom offers bookings for groups of fewer than four people per time slot. Gin tastings are R60 per person.
