CITY Sightseeing Cape Town has launched of Urban Xplorer, a new inner-city experience officially kicking off on Heritage Day, 24 September 2026.

Urban Xplorer offers a fresh way to discover Cape Town, designed for travellers who want to go beyond postcard views and connect with the real stories, people and places that shape the city. Blending history, culture and community, Urban Xplorer will reveal the rich layers of Cape Town’s heritage. Urban Xplorer includes one hour on board with a live English-speaking guide, who brings the inner city alive with personal narratives, cultural insights and historical context that reveal new dimensions of Cape Town’s complex and diverse heritage. This is followed by a 30-minute guided walk in Bo-Kaap, giving guests the chance to explore one of the city’s most iconic neighbourhoods on foot.

“We are thrilled with this innovative new concept,” added Henwood. “Urban Xplorer showcases the authentic heart of our beautiful city, while championing local businesses and inviting guests to connect more deeply with Cape Town and its people.”
