THE Galileo Open Air Cinema invites brave souls from far and wide to an unforgettable night of terror under the stars. On Tuesday, October 31, 2023, the normally serene Kirstenbosch Garden will undergo a spine-chilling transformation, boasting eerie décor, lively music, and a spook-tacular atmosphere for The Galileo’s special Halloween-themed screening of Scream.

The gates will creak open at 6pm, allowing guests an hour and a half of pre-movie thrills. It’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy the on-site food stalls boasting an array of gourmet goodness. Sink your teeth into delicious juicy burgers, pizzas, shawarmas and of course, popcorn. To keep those spirits high, an on-site barista and bar will be at your service.

The themed evening is made complete with picnic spoils under a star-lit sky as you socialise with fellow creatures of the night before cuddling up close and enjoying the frightful flick.

Prepare for spine-tingling suspense with Scream, the 1996 American teen slasher film that adds a dark comedy twist to its sinister plot. Renowned as one of the greatest horror movies of all time, this chilling masterpiece stars David Arquette, Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, Matthew Lillard, Rose McGowan, Skeet Ulrich, and Drew Barrymore. A masked psycho, known as Ghostface, haunts a quiet town, targeting high school students one by one.

Don your most spine-chilling attire as there are fantastic prizes awaiting the best-dressed ghouls and guests.

Tickets are R200 per person (includes movie entry, themed decor, entertainment, backrest, blanket, and popcorn). Info here.
