OVER three days in November, the elegant halls and lush gardens of Mount Nelson, a Belmond Hotel, will come alive with a celebration of fashion, flavour and creativity at Confections x Collections. Curated by sustainability-focused platform Twyg, this year’s fourth edition spotlights four visionary designers.
Shelley Mokoena of C O N N A D E, recently selected for Milan Fashion Week, channels nature, African heritage and architectural form into sculptural womenswear. Anil Padia of Yoshita 1967, trained in Paris, draws on his Indo-Kenyan roots to craft intricate, ritual-inspired pieces celebrating femininity and cultural fusion. Luke Radloff of UNI FORM brings a modernist lens to indigenous techniques, transforming handwoven cottons and knitted mohair into modular pieces that honour artisanal traditions while redefining African fashion. Completing the line-up, Laduma Ngxokolo of MaXhosa Africa returns with his globally acclaimed knitwear inspired by Xhosa symbolism, colour and craft.
“Following previous editions featuring Thebe Magugu and Sindiso Khumalo, CxC continues to spark dialogue around sustainability and the future of fashion,” says Twyg founder Jackie May. “We’re excited to bring guests into this world once again.”
Each of the three days unfolds through a narrative-driven act, pairing a designer showcase with a bespoke culinary experience that reimagines Mount Nelson’s iconic Afternoon Tea, crafted by executive sous Chef Vicky Gurovich.
