Warming Winter Nibbles at Nomad

0

NOMAD Bistro & Bar invites all wayfarers to stop by and keep warm this winter with its newly designed menu. Located in the heart of the bustling CBD, pop by for platters, light meals, sweet treats and drinks. From Bermuda to Jamaica, there is something for every palate.

Grab a friend and choose either the hummus, ribs and calamari or chicken and arancini platters. If you can’t decide on which platter, opt instead for tapas for two where you can select five of nine tapas offering both vegetarian and meat options. If you’re a lover of Nomad’s burgers, don’t fret as all the classic flavours, with the option of meat or vegetarian, are still on offer. New to the tapas menu is a petite peri-peri chicken bunny chow, served with a modern twist, spicy chicken Manchurian to give a taste from the East and exotic mushroom arincini balls with Parmesan cheese.

Winter is a time for indulgence and those winter coats can hide a multitude of sins so loosen your belts and make room for the creamy avocado and bacon soup or the mushroom soup with a vodka based sauce. If home comfort is what you’re seeking, then look no further than a traditional chicken soup that will bring back homely memories.

Satisfy your sweet tooth with a chocolate pecan nut brownie served with vanilla pod ice-cream. For a more South African taste, dig into a traditional malva pudding with a cinnamon and pistachio nut twist served with a side of ice-cream. For a more adventurous taste, try the chocolate, banana and avocado pudding.

Heat up with a Tequila Mocha-ing Bird or Cuban Cortado, served with a generous splash of tequila blanco and Bacardi white rum respectively. For something sweet and warming, grab a glass of hot gluhwein, winter in a glass with red wine and mulling spices. Red or white wine and beer popsicles are still available for those nights when you’re missing the summer.

“We have searched for and experimented with different flavours to introduce an array of seasonal warmers, inspired by flavours from all around the world with added spice to combat the wintery weather,” says Sunil Krishnan, co-owner of Nomad Bistro & Bar.

Head to Nomad Bistro & Bar for nightly specials from Mondays to Saturdays – from live music, comedy, deep house and date nights. “We want everyone to feel welcome at Nomad so we’ve lined up a wide range of entertainment, each setting differing ambiances, to suit everyone,” says Sunil’s partner Mohit Sureka.

Nomad Bistro & Bar is at 33 Waterkant Street, Cape Town. Call 021 418 3020.
