AS the vineyards settle into the slower rhythm of winter, Neil Ellis Wines invites guests to embrace the season with the launch of its new winter menu at Neil Ellis Restaurant, available until 31 August 2026.
Set against the backdrop of the Stellenbosch winelands, the seasonal offering celebrates comforting flavours, generous sharing plates and relaxed vineyard dining, perfectly paired with the acclaimed Neil Ellis wine portfolio.
At Neil Ellis Restaurant, the cuisine is rooted in the generous spirit of the Cape, ingredient-driven, fire-inspired and designed to bring people together around the table. Drawing influence from Mediterranean simplicity and South African heritage flavours, the menu showcases seasonal produce, honest cooking techniques and dishes crafted to complement the Neil Ellis wine experience.
Guests can expect a selection of winter favourites, featuring comforting seasonal dishes such as hearty soups with toasted ciabatta, roasted and baked side dishes as well as our classic wood-fired flatbreads. For those seeking bold Cape flavours, the Cape-style sosatie, available in line fish or chicken, offers a fragrant, lightly spiced curry experience paired with traditional “tamatie slaai”.
The signature Neil’s Cut, a 300g sirloin speaks to the restaurant’s fire-inspired philosophy, while shared plates such as the Grazing Platter invite leisurely afternoons over local cheeses, charcuterie, preserves and toasted ciabatta; and the rich decadent dark chocolate brownie with vanilla gelato to finish off your day of understated luxury.
Designed for long lunches and intimate gatherings alike, the winter-inspired menu reflects the warmth, authenticity and understated elegance synonymous with the Neil Ellis experience.
Whether enjoying a glass of Chardonnay beside a crackling fire or sharing seasonal dishes overlooking the vineyards, guests are invited to savour winter in the heart of Stellenbosch.
