THE President Hotel in Bantry Bay is hosting Paws & Pastries, an exclusive fundraiser on Saturday, 24 May from 2pm to 5pm at the hotel’s Deck Bar. This unique event invites dogs and owners to enjoy a sophisticated high tea experience while supporting local animal welfare organisations.
The gathering benefits four animal welfare groups – Run for the Dogs, Paws A While, Pit Pals and the WOWproject –raising funds for a sterilisation initiative that aims to help 100 dogs in Atlantis receive proper veterinary care.
“We’re combining fun with philanthropy where guests and their four-legged companions will enjoy delicious treats while contributing to a cause that improves animals’ lives in underserved communities,” says Jessica Sutcliffe, food and beverage director.
Event highlights include specially created menus for both dogs and humans, a best-dressed dog competition, photo booth, paw print art station and charity raffle with premium pet brand prizes.
The dog menu features chicken liver terrine, beef meatballs, pumpkin fritters, salmon croquettes and sweet treats like peanut butter pupcakes and coconut honey treats. Humans can enjoy melanzane tartlets, shiitake quiche, lamb sausage rolls, smoked salmon sandwiches and desserts including citrus cheesecake, scones with clotted cream, and milk tart éclairs.
Proceeds will fund veterinary services that improve dog health while addressing community animal management challenges. Tickets are R300 per dog, R350 per human and can be booked via WhatsApp 071 368 9529 or bookings@presidenthotel.co.za
