Founded in 2011 by creative director Mervyn Gers, the company began with a team of just eight. Today, it has grown into a thriving operation with more than 50 employees, producing a wide range of handcrafted ceramics.
“We’re dedicated to local job creation and passionate about handcrafted excellence,” says Gers. “Each piece is made with care and passes through 22 pairs of hands, ensuring its ‘imperfectly perfect’ charm.”
Known for its rich textures, vibrant colours, and signature finishes, Mervyn Gers Ceramics has become a staple in Southern Africa’s finest restaurants, hotels, game lodges, guest houses, and stylish homes worldwide. The glazes, inspired by Southern Africa’s diverse landscapes, include Churchhaven, Fynbos, Harbour, Langebaan, Madumbe, Marula, Moss, Ostrich Egg, Paternoster, Rock Pool and Veld.
