JOIN Tintswalo Boulders and talented young chef Callan Austin for a culinary masterclass weekend from July 22-24 and learn the art of creating delectable dishes with sustainable ingredients foraged from nature.
In 2021 Callan was crowned the first international winner of the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy Award for Social Responsibility in Milan. His work experience includes stints at some of the Capeās foremost restaurants, including Chefs Warehouse Tintswalo Atlantic and Le coin FranƧais. Austin has a keen interest in refined, conceptual cooking with an emphasis on sustainability and he has featured as a guest judge on Masterchef South Africa.
The Tintswalo Boulders weekend begins on the Friday afternoon (22 July 2022) with welcome bubbly and canapĆ©s, followed by a masterclass in the art of mixing cocktails.Ā Dinner will be a harvest table served family style while getting acquainted with fellow villa residents.
On Saturday morning guests will be awakened by the smell of freshly brewed coffee and pastries baking in the oven. A scrumptious breakfast will be served on the terrace with uninterrupted views of Boulders Beach and the famous African Penguin Colony. One of the highlights of the weekend will be joining Callan for a morning of foraging for fresh ingredients in the natural environment that surrounds the villa, followed by a casual, light lunch. The afternoon will be free for relaxation ā book a spa treatment or a water activity, explore the treasures of Simonās Town, or discover the hidden beaches along the boardwalk. The highlight of the weekend begins at sunset when Callan will present a masterclass in using the natural ingredients found on the morningās foraging excursion. Guests will get to enjoy the fruits of their hard work, and learn how to use these sustainable elements to create a unique tasting style dinner menu, served complete with wine pairing.
A lazy brunch will be served on Sunday morning, with a late check out at 3pm for you to make the most out of your weekend, and to enjoy the luxury and comfort of your beautiful suite before the start of another busy week.
Rates are from R10 500 for two people, which includes luxury accommodation for two nights (Friday 22 and Saturday 23 July 2022), as well as all meals and selected beverages served during the culinary experiences.
