ESCAPE to the Paarl winelands to enjoy a romantic Valentine’s dinner at the Bistro at Brookdale Estate. Couples are invited to book their table for two on Wednesday 14 February, with a choice of seating in the air-conditioned restaurant, or on the terrace overlooking the vineyards.
Celebrate sunset on arrival with a complimentary glass of Mason Road Serendipity Rosé, a delicious salmon-coloured rosé with aromas of cherries, strawberries and passion fruit.
Chef Gary Coetzee and his team will present their seasonal à la carte, which includes light, summer dishes such as char-grilled baby gem lettuce with pickled red onion, avocado, croutons, capers, wakame and cashew dressing, or curried beetroot pavé served with onion bhaji, peanut, mint and coriander, chutney, sweet and sour cling peach to start.
Main course follows with more mouthwatering options such as duck leg confit with sweet potato, pak choi, fine beans and ginger gastrique, or cauliflower risotto with pickled shimeji, toasted almonds, aubergine biltong and herb oil, before ending on a sweet note with white chocolate mascarpone parfait, Syrah mousse, strawberry, white chocolate snow and raspberry sponge, to name a few options.
For the ultimate romantic spoil, make a night of it and check in at the Manor House before dinner, which is surrounded by dramatic mountain vistas, dipping valleys and an abundance of fynbos. Cocooned in luxury, a restful night is guaranteed in a suite that comes complete with all of life’s little luxuries. Wake up to birdsong and sunshine dancing through the vines that beckons you to explore the estate. After an invigorating walk or a swim, a delicious freshly prepared breakfast will be served to conclude an unforgettable stay that sends the Valentines on their way.
