Award-winning Creation Wines: Excellence in culinary innovation

CREATION WINES’ star in the prestigious 2025 Eat Out Woolworths Restaurant Awards recognises the estate’s innovative approach to wine and food pairing, and reinforces its reputation for excellence following its 2024 Val d’Or Award for Best Brand Experience and number three ranking in the World’s Best Vineyards, number one in Africa.

“We are thrilled to receive a one-star rating in the 2025 Eat Out Woolworths Restaurant Awards,” says Creation’s co-founder and creative director, Carolyn Martin. “This achievement validates our commitment to exceptional dining experiences that evolve with the seasons while maintaining our philosophy of harmony between food, wine, and environment. Our Wine and Wellness approach, including our signature anti-inflammatory pairing menu, represents our belief that fine dining can be both indulgent and health conscious.”

Creation’s culinary journey over the past 18 months has evolved seasonally through various themes, from vibrant Energy in summer 2023/24, through exploratory Discovery in winter and a Celebration of Biodiversity in spring, to Harmonious Connections in summer 2024/25 and now culminating in this autumn’s Agri-CULTURE, which celebrates the profound connection between wine, nature, land, the seasons and the arts. Each menu has showcased the estate’s unique terroir and commitment to local sourcing.

“This latest award inspires us to continue our journey of local culinary innovation and sharing our passion with guests from around the world,’”says Creation’s head chef, Eleanor Coetzee.

What Sets Creation Apart

  • What grows together goes together – Creation embodies this philosophy through foraging indigenous herbs and utilising estate-produced honey, olive oil, spring water, and wines. An impressive 80% of other ingredients come from within an 80-kilometre radius, creating authentic expressions of the Hemel-en-Aarde terroir.
  • Wine and Wellness philosophy – Creation’s pioneering approach highlights the synergy between moderate wine consumption and nutrient-rich, anti-inflammatory foods. The signature anti-inflammatory pairing menu demonstrates that fine dining can align with wellness without compromising flavour.
  • Sustainability and self-sufficiency – As both vineyard and garden, Creation minimises environmental impact while maximising the authentic expression of terroir. The biodiversity-focused approach ensures that sustainability remains at the heart of the culinary experience.
  • Wine pairing expertise – As a winery first, Creation ensures each dish is conceived with wine in mind, creating memorable pairings that elevate wine and food. The estate’s deep understanding of flavour synergies results in a seamless integration of culinary and viticultural excellence.
  • Exceptional guest experience – The Val d’Or Award confirms Creation’s success in crafting memorable journeys that engage all senses, from vineyard views to the final bite of dessert.

As Creation enters a new chapter, the team remains committed to pushing boundaries while staying true to the estate’s core values of excellence, harmony, and connection to place: Nature is the inspiration and innovation that is Creation.
