THE V&A Waterfront is calling all beer lovers to Makers Landing for a Dockside Beer Experience on Saturday, 4 June from 12pm to 9pm.

Curated by Ukhamba Beerworx in partnership with Makers Landing, the Dockside Beer Experience introduces local microbrewers to a mainstream market in the heart of the city at V&A Waterfronts’ food destination Makers Landing right next to the Cruise Terminal.

The experience is a celebration of the quality, innovation and variety of local craft beer with tastings from Cape Town’s local microbreweries, great food, live music and games.

Participating local microbrewers span the peninsula, from Woodstock, Salt River and Ndabeni, to Kenilworth and Kommetjie; the Dockside Beer Experience includes Ukhamba Beerworx, Woodstock Brewery, Shackleton Brewing Co, AfroCarribean (Banana Jam Brewing Co), Hoghouse and Lakeside Brewing Company.

Microbrewer Lethu Tshabangu from Ukhamba Beerworks (below) at Makers Landing says, “Brewers are all united by their passion for beer. For us the Dockside Beer Experience is an opportunity for us all to tell our personal liquid stories. We are not competitors, we’re a team that works together to promote the love of well-crafted beer, good food and good music. They all go together.

“Although we all follow the same brewing process, we each bring our own personal touch to our beers and visitors to the Dockside Beer Experience will taste the personal variations. We come from all over the city but believe that Makers Landing is the perfect place for us to showcase what we do and love. The space and the décor are perfect for the event, and who wouldn’t enjoy a good beer while watching the ocean and the boats in the harbour?”

Entry to the event is free.
