It’s astounding! Rocky Horror Show coming to Theatre On The Bay

LET’S do the Time Warp again! The legendary cult musical The Rocky Horror Show opens at Theatre on the Bay in Camps Bay from 7 April to 31 May 2026, promising to unleash all the wild energy, wicked humour and rock ’n’ roll rebellion that has made it a global phenomenon for more than 50 years.

This electrifying staging features an award-winning South African cast led by Craig Urbani (pictured), who reprises his role as the outrageous Frank-N-Furter. He is joined by Léa Blerk as the wide-eyed Janet, Robert Everson as her clean-cut fiancé Brad, Schoemann Smit as the sinister Riff Raff, Jasmine Minter as the enigmatic Magenta, Anna Olivier as the effervescent Columbia, Natasha Sutherland as the Narrator, Micah Stokajovic as the muscle-bound Rocky, and Zak Hendrikz as Eddie/Dr Scott. Miguel de Sampaio, Tjaart van der Walt, Cleo Wesley, Alessia Gironi, Taya Pearson, Gabi Knight and Sasha Duffy complete the dynamic ensemble.

First performed in 1973, The Rocky Horror Show shattered theatrical conventions and gleefully celebrated individuality, freedom of expression and unapologetic self-discovery. Its blend of glam rock, camp theatrics and playful provocation has cemented its status as one of the most iconic musicals of all time.

The story begins innocently enough, when sweethearts Brad and Janet find themselves stranded on a stormy night with a flat tyre and no choice but to seek refuge in a mysterious castle. What follows is a delicious descent into a world where nothing is quite what it seems. Inside, they encounter the charismatic, corset-clad “sweet transvestite” Dr Frank ’n’ Furter, his eccentric household and his muscular creation, Rocky.

Fueled by unforgettable rock anthems including Time Warp, Sweet Transvestite and Hot Patootie – Bless My Soul, the show unfolds as a riot of glitter, glam and guitar riffs. Audiences can expect a slick, high-voltage theatrical experience packed with outrageous characters, bold sensuality and plenty of liberated fun.

Whether you’re a devoted fan ready to dress up and shout the legendary call-backs, or a first-timer eager to discover why this cult classic continues to captivate audiences across generations, The Rocky Horror Show is set to be one of the must-see theatrical events of 2026.

So pull on your fishnets, warm up your vocal cords and prepare to abandon all inhibitions. Don’t dream it. Be it.

The Rocky Horror Show runs at Theatre on the Bay from 7 April to 31 May 2026. Tickets cost from R200 through Webtickets and the Theatre on the Bay box office on 021 438 3300. PG16
