The Almond Girl: Local goodness you’ll go nuts for

THE Almond Girl is serving up small-batch, single-origin almonds from a third-generation family farm just outside Montagu in the Klein Karoo. What began in 1974 as South Africa’s first commercial almond farm has blossomed into a proudly local brand, offering raw, roasted, and chocolate-coated almonds – all grown, harvested, and packed on-site for unbeatable freshness and full traceability.

Run by Reni Brochetto, The Almond Girl is her way of continuing a dream that started with her Italian grandfather, Rino, who first planted almond trees in the mineral-rich soils between Montagu and Barrydale. With hot summers, icy winters, and well-drained ground, the Klein Karoo has proven to be almond heaven.

Every spring, the farm bursts into colour as almond blossoms bloom – marking the start of another season and a story worth sharing. The Almond Girl is all about keeping things natural and personal, with preservative-free snacks that support local agriculture and offer a lower carbon footprint than imported options.

The range has something for every moment:

  • Nonpareil Premium Raw Almonds
  • Dark Chocolate-coated Almonds (70%)
  • White Chocolate Almonds with Orange Peel
  • Dry Roasted with Pink Himalayan Salt
  • Smokehouse Savoury Almonds
  • Almond Rusks, Chilli Oil & Extra Virgin Olive Oil from its own orchard
  • Plus variety snack packs for when you want it all

Why go local? Because most almonds on our shelves come from overseas, travelling thousands of kilometres before reaching your pantry. The Almond Girl skips all that. You’re getting almonds straight from the source – from soil to snack, grown and packed with care by people who genuinely love what they do.
