BONANG MATHEBA, founder of House of BNG, is known to her fans as the “Champagne Queen of Africa”. What began as a passion project was rooted in both personal desire and national pride. She had always loved champagne, and back in 2017 she partnered with Cape Wine Master Jeff Grier to craft a Méthode Cap Classique, made the same way as champagne but using grapes from the Cape.
The House of BNG first produced a Brut NV which is a blend of red and white grapes with a full balanced, yeasty complexity. It’s fresh, racy zestiness is a result of crisp acidity and delicate fruit. The Brut Rosé NV is imbued with a cheerful, rich and fruity character with the suggestion of strawberries. Is rich in flavour and ends with a long, creamy finish.
