It’s all about the burrata at Arlecchino

ARLECCHINO in Sea Point will host Puglia‑born cheesemaker Davide Ostuni for free live lunchtime sessions in August and September. Guests will watch Davide stretch, shape, and fill burrata by hand, and enjoy three complimentary tastings of his cheeses along with a jug of sangria to share between two.

It’s an unexpected story that begins in Somerset West – a town of wine estates, garden centres, and very good weather. It is not Puglia. Yet it’s where Davide now lives, bringing with him a lifetime of learning in the region that invented burrata and the craft of fresh cheese.

It’s a reminder of what fresh actually tastes like.

Arlecchino captures the playful elegance and faded glamour of a bygone Sea Point, reimagined through the lens of Italian charm. Not a literal take on Italy, but a spirited interpretation of its mood, where Milan’s clean lines meet Venice’s opulence, and theatre blends effortlessly with seaside ease. The menu draws inspiration from the Mediterranean appetite, offering indulgent breakfasts, vibrant salads, comforting pastas, and seafood made for sharing. Inspired by the art of delightful disruption, Arlecchino is a café at heart, elevated with soul and style. It is the ultimate expression of Natasha Sideris’s love for beauty, storytelling, and timeless hospitality.
