ONE part betrayal, two parts midlife mayhem and a generous pinch of retribution, Stirred Not Shaken is a new, bittersweet one-woman dramedy to be performed by award-winning actress Lynita Crofford (pictured) at the Galloway Theatre from 5 to 15 November 2025.
It follows the journey of feisty Kathryn, a woman who finds herself alone at her kitchen table wondering, what the focaccia? Still reeling from the shock of an empty nest, this “perfect” wife and mother wakes up to the reality of a bitter betrayal where the life she worked hard to create turns out to be a sham.
With acclaimed actor/director Natasha Sutherland in the director’s seat, Kathryn’s wry humour and shockingly raw honesty will make you laugh out loud as the curve-ball she never saw coming becomes a catalyst to finding the parts of herself she had locked away in a drawer. Told in the gritty, relatable voice of writer Susan Hayden, this spicy play about love, loss, and revenge showcases the resilience of women and their ability to hold it all together in the face of life’s storms.
Armed with a cookbook, a martini and newfound determination, Kathryn steps out of the rubble of her failed marriage and begins to hone her knife skills. But, is she ready to turn up the heat and serve a five-course reckoning?
Poignant, funny and imminently relatable, Stirred Not Shaken will be on stage at the Galloway Theatre from 5 to 15 November 2025 at 8pm. The duration of the play is 70 minutes and tickets are R180 via Quicket. Age restriction: 16.
