SEA POINT’S MOJO MARKET MARKS ONE YEAR WITH FREEDOM DAY CELEBRATION

2

ALTHOUGH celebrating its first birthday, it’s already hard to imagine Sea Point without the Mojo Market in Regent Street. The seaside-to-streetside ground floor building houses a collection of pop-up traders, retail shops selling clothing and accessories, food stalls and Mojo’s bar with all its speciality beers and spirits, as well as a buzzing market plaza that opens up to face the live music stage. Mojo Market’s casual, anytime atmosphere ensures it has become an easy part of life on the Atlantic Seaboard.

Celebrating the occasion, the owners have chosen to dedicate Freedom Day on this Friday, April 27, to expressing their gratitude to the loyal supporters of the seven-day-a-week market. Using the official event hashtag #MojoMarketBirthdayBash, everyone is invited to join an InstaWalk at 9am led by Heinrich Knotze (@instacptguy) on Friday. Meet at the Mojo Hotel reception, and in the spirit of Freedom Day, the first 27 urban Instagrammers to arrive will receive a delicious free coffee from the Coffee Collective.

Customers can expect a full day of food and entertainment, and lots of giveaways and specials; 15 retail stores await, and dozens of incredible food stores offering everything from poke bowls to sushi, and pizza to oysters. There will be three bands performing during the course of the day, and there is no cover charge. Amy Tjasink is on stage from 1pm till 3pm, followed by Leigh Hondy at 5pm. Swing Cats presented by Jack Black Beer are on at 8pm till 10pm.

Be sure to enter the competition to win a two-night getaway for two in a deluxe studio room with sea views at the Mojo Hotel – attend Mojo Market’s first birthday bash, take a photo, post it on Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag above, and tag Mojo Market & Mojo Hotel.

Says Mojo Market co-owner Graeme Robinson: “We want to call on everyone to join us for a fun day out. Mojo is for friends, families and even for dogs. So, come and share in the fun this Freedom Day.”
