THERE’S a new Afrikaans festival kid on the block – the TopWineRoots Laailou Music Festival will create a thrilling experience in a fantastic setting for an unforgettable day out with your friends at at Berg River Resort, Paarl, on November 19.
Your lilo is that quirky, colourful thing that floats your boat on holidays. Now you can bring your all sorts and shapes of “Laailous” to spend the day with fabulous people and enjoy one of the best-line-ups that the Western Cape Festival circuit has to offer: Karlien van Jaarsveld, Janie Bay, Tasché, Ampie, Corné Pretorius, Chemistry, as well as Loki Rothman and Margot Rothman will keep the good vibes going all day. You can watch from your lilos in the water or from your camp chair on the riverbank; the scenery is fantastic. There will be surround sound that will make it possible to enjoy the music from your spot of choice.
Organisers Corné Pretorius and Wynand de Villiers are thrilled to be hosting their new festival at such an idyllic venue. De Villers says, “We are confident the line-up is exceptional, but on top of that, it was important to find a venue that matches the vision of what we are aiming to create. The Berg River Resort is the perfect setting: for those who are not in the water, there is shade under ample beautiful old trees.”
De Villiers says they are planning to make the festival an annual event. “We are privileged to have so much support for the first edition, and we are also tremendously grateful to our two major corporate sponsors TopWineRoots and Bok Radio.”
