Shine brightly at this year’s Protea Party

CELEBRATING everything “Bright and Light”,  the sixth Protea Party takes place at the Anthonij Rupert Estate in Franschhoek on Saturday, October 26, 2019.

Regarded as one of the Cape Winelands’ social calendar highlights, Anthonij Rupert Wyne’s annual winelands harvest-style feast promises a memorable night as it celebrates the estate’s Protea wines. With the spotlight on the latest releases in this range, this one-night-only affair offers deliciously inspired seasonal cuisine, superb wines and generous hospitality.

The Protea range – which consists of eight single varietal wines – takes its name from the flower species unique to the Cape Floral Kingdom, and is synonymous with elegant design and value for money. Each wine bottle features a unique pattern inspired by floral elements.

The Bright and Light theme takes its cue from the newest “daisy fields” design of the Protea Chenin Blanc bottle. The theme also befits the end of a lengthy drought, while welcoming a glorious spring after an abundance of rain. All elements of the evening will celebrate this theme, from twinkling fairylight displays on the tables and a fresh, vibrant menu, to the ceiling of stars overhead. Guests are invited to incorporate this into their own outfits, should they wish to do so.

On arrival, guests will be greeted with Protea cocktails to savour as the sun sets on the estate. Dinner – a three-course harvest style feast of seasonal winelands produce – will be served at long tables beneath a marquee. The full range of Protea wines will be available throughout the evening. Entertainment will be provided by a live band and the dance floor is a must for working off all those kilojoules after dinner!

Tickets cost R795 per person, and include all food, wine and entertainment. The party begins at 6pm for 6.30pm. Pre-booking is essential for this sell-out event. For bookings and/or enquiries, call Sumarie Elliot on 021 874 9019 or email [email protected]
