Gabriëlskloof’s latest release marks a decade for Rosebud Rosé

Gabriëlskloof celebrates a special occasion with the 10th release of its everyday favourite Rosebud Rosé. Flirtatious as the ocean breeze that cools the vines, Rosebud is a blended wine with the 2019 vintage comprising equal amounts of Syrah and Viognier, from Gabriëlskloof Estate.

These grow in the Bot River ward, where prevailing southerly winds from the nearby Atlantic Ocean create a mesoclimate ideally suited to low-yielding vineyards. “The 2019 Gabrielskloof Rosebud Rosé continues our recent trend of producing a dry, light and deliciously moreish Provençal-style rosé,” says cellar master Peter-Allan Finlayson. “We’ve also updated the label to reflect this new, fresh approach.”

Peter-Allan describes Rosebud as the “little darling” of Gabriëlskloof’s Estate Range, which houses wine made with attention to detail and quality and that provide exceptional value for money. This renowned range includes Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, The Blend and Syrah.

“Expect luscious fruit on the nose – watermelon, papaya and strawberry,” he says. “The palate is lightweight and summery with a balanced acidity that adds freshness.”

The Gabriëlskloof Rosebud Rosé 2019 is best enjoyed chilled, within a year or two of vintage. A delicious refreshment by itself, the wine is also perfect as an accompaniment to a variety of lighter dishes.

The wine is available from the cellar door at only R80/bottle. It may also be ordered online. Gabriëlskloof, just outside Bot River, on the Swartrivier Road, off the N2, can be contacted on 028 284 9865 or info@gabrielskloof.co.za. Also follow on social media @Gabrielskloof.
