Tourism wheels start rolling

THE City Sightseeing Red Bus, an icon on the tourism landscape, is revving up the fleet and is ready to hit the city streets this Woman’s Day weekend.

During nationwide lockdown, like all tourism operators, City Sightseeing has been closed for business as the country waited for the Covid-19 pandemic to hit its peak and begin showing a decline in infections. With the latest easing of Level 3 restrictions, City Sightseeing has been given the go ahead to resume the service on August 8, 2020.

Safety is a priority when travelling on any City Sightseeing tour and stringent measures have been put in place to keep guests safe. These include the mandatory use of masks by staff and passengers, temperature checks at entrance to all buses, boats and ticket offices, buses cleaned frequently throughout the day and deep cleaned every night, hand sanitiser available at all touch points, regular sanitising of ticket office, and limited bus capacity on the bus with strict social distancing protocols.

Beginning with weekends and public holidays, the Red Bus will be on the streets of Cape Town again, unlocking the secrets of the city and again showing off her beauty to Capetonians who have been confined to their homes for more than four months.

Always known as an affordable family excursion, City Sightseeing has made it even easier to hop on a tour with the whole family and is offering a post-Covid ticket price to celebrate Woman’s Day and the freedom of travel. Click here for more information.

“This pandemic has been devastating on so many fronts. Our hearts go out to all those affected. The time has come to welcome back our fellow Capetonians, ensuring we do so safely for both passengers and our staff. Please come and hop on a bus with us and fall in love with Cape Town all over again!” said Claus Tworeck, chairman of City Sightseeing South Africa.
